It’s a first post for a recipe feature at The HodgePodge Lifestyle. So let’s start with this interesting and healthy recipe, Avocado Pasta, that’s very easy to make.
Are you surprised or curious? It was a recipe my mom found online after my uncle gave Avocados to us from his backyard tree. Originally, I planned to make some Guacamole which I learned from living in Colombia but when this was suggested to me, I said, “Why not? Let’s give it a try!”
Coincidentally, UNTV (a local broadcasting company) invited me to guest host for their morning TV show, “Good Morning Kuya“. They asked me to present a food that I like and well, though it’s not your typical breakfast food, why not have this presented to their audience since it’s quite unique.
And so as early as a 5:30 am call time, coffee in hand, I was off to the TV station since they had to do my make up, gave me a short script of the ingredients and nutrition facts, introduced me to my co-host and former celebrity, Diego Castro (remember him from the 90s TV hit TGIS?).
Yawning and all, I was excited to do it as it was a long time since the last time I was in front of a camera which was back at The Manila Times School of JournalismΒ (now known as The Manila Times College)Β for Broadcasting classes as a news anchor or Radio DJ and also as a speaker for AIESEC Philippines to talk about cultural exchange or internship programs. Also since I began working in the industry, I was usually working as a backstage production person.
So to cut the long story short, here are the video and recipe (plus the nutrition facts) for the Avocado pasta. It’s very easy to make and it’s perfect if you want your family to eat a healthy alternative to your usual Carbonara or Spaghetti at home. Enjoy!

This pasta dish looks really yummy, although not for breakfast as you mentioned. Congrats on being on the TV show that must have been fun!
Thanks Suzanne! Yes it’s healthy too!
I love every and any kind of pasta! Ireally need to try this. But for lunch.
Looks interesting enough to try! Good luck on your career as a TV chef.
Hahaha thanks! TV chef might be a far fetch career for now but I was lucky to be featured! π
I’ve eaten a Mexican meal with avocado dip but not in pasta. I think, this is so tastier than normal pasta. And, healthy for health-conscious-people.
Haven’t heard of an avocado pasta. I’ll watch your video and I’ll try to make one too!
Thanks everyone for your comments! It’s really quite good and healthier than other pastas out there. Yes guesting on UNTV was indeed fun! π
Avocado Pasta is a really unique flavor. I’m sure this would be really tasty.
I’m a huge fan of avocado! But they are so expensive here in Malaysia.
Cooked one at home! The avocadoes there are different and smaller since the ones I always saw at Bangsar Village mall’s Gourmet grocery were from Australia when I was still living in Malaysia. Hope you find one that’s like those found here in Philippines! π
The salad looks easy enough to do. It’s quite rare to find avocados in Malaysia though!
wow! Really nice! Looks yummy! Nice post!
